About the Author
J. Chris Richards
Chris Richards has been writing as long as she can remember. Jesus Gets Hand-Me-Downs has been on her heart for many years and is her debut book in the Christian children’s genre.
She began teaching the Bible to children at sixteen. Over the years, she has taught Sunday school and AWANA, as well as adult classes, for good measure.
Her love of writing began in her childhood, and now she teaches writing skills to beginning writers and legacy writing to non-writers. She is the AWANA Ministry Director for her church, with the goal of helping children grow in their relationship with God.
She combines writing and working with children to fulfill the verse she has chosen to inspire her life. “O God, You have taught me from my youth, and still I declare Your wondrous deeds. And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.” NASB1995
Chris and her husband, Roy, enjoy walking and looking for those small things that make their world unique. They spend their favorite times with their three daughters, six grandchildren (one girl and five boys), and one great-granddaughter.
Her hobbies include photography (especially in the Colorado mountains), sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
